The early Bukh DV10 and DV20 single-cylinder and twin-cylinder marine diesels did not use a separate starter motor and alternator, but a single combined "dynastarter" (also known as a starter-generator): this single unit starts the engine and subsequently charges the battery. This dynastarter is the direct replacement for that original part.

Please note:

This dynastarter is supplied EXCLUDING voltage regulator/relay — always replace these at the same time. This version only fits the Bukh DV10 up to engine number 89156 and the DV20 up to engine number 93637; from 1974 Bukh fitted a conventional starter motor with ring gear on these engines instead of the dynastarter. Check the engine number on your engine's identification plate before ordering.
