A cylinder liner (cylinder sleeve) forms the running surface in which the piston moves up and down. If the cylinder wall is worn, has become oval, or has been damaged by a seizure, honing is not always sufficient anymore—in that case, a new liner provides the solution. When overhauling small marine diesels, replacing the cylinder liners together with new pistons and piston rings is the way to restore compression and oil consumption to factory specifications.
Please pay attention to the execution when ordering: some of our liners are supplied unfinished. These are bored and honed to size after being pressed in, so that the clearance can be precisely matched to the piston—a job for an overhaul specialist with the right equipment. Each product states whether the liner is finished or unfinished and which engine codes are compatible.
We supply cylinder liners for Solé Diesel (Mini 11 to Mini 55), Vetus (M2.06 to M4.17, M3.10), Meiki, Beta Marine (Beta 10 to Beta 60), Nanni (N2.10 to N4.80 and 4.105 HE), Universal, Craftsman Marine, and JF Marine Power.
When replacing the liners, always combine them with new pistons or at least new piston rings. For a complete overhaul in one go, check out our engine overhaul kits.
