At the interface between the engine and marine transmission are a few small parts that can prevent a lot of trouble: the pilot bush that centers the transmission input shaft, and the oil seals that seal the crankcase on the flywheel side. You will notice wear by a rattling or humming noise when engaging and disengaging the clutch, vibrations in the drivetrain, or oil in the flywheel housing.
Especially the latter issue is often misunderstood: oil between the engine and transmission usually comes from the crankshaft oil seal behind the flywheel — a small part, but replacing it means removing the transmission and the flywheel. Therefore, do the job right the first time and replace the pilot bush immediately, so you don’t have to do the same work twice.
In this category you will currently find the crankshaft/pilot bush for the Beta Marine Beta 28, Beta 30, Beta 35, and Beta 38 and corresponding Nanni and Universal engines; the range is continuously expanding. You can find the crankshaft oil seals and other shaft seals for these engines under our oil seals; the corresponding crankcase gaskets are included in the gasket sets.
