The main bearings and connecting rod bearings support the crankshaft of your marine diesel engine; the thrust bearing absorbs the axial load from the propeller shaft. Worn bearings make themselves known through dropping oil pressure when the engine is warm, a dull knocking sound that increases with engine speed, or metal particles in the oil and oil filter. Do not continue sailing in that case: a seized bearing quickly means a damaged crankshaft and a complete overhaul.
In this category you will find main bearings and main bearing sets, connecting rod bearings, connecting rod and piston pin bushings, and thrust bearing sets for common small marine diesels: Solé Diesel (Mini 11 to Mini 62), Vetus (M2.06 to M4.17), Meiki, Beta Marine (Beta 10 to Beta 60), Nanni (N2.10 to N4.80), Universal (M-25XPB, M-35B), Craftsman Marine, and JF Marine Power. Each product indicates which engine codes it fits and whether it is a set or an individual bearing.
Always measure bearing clearance during replacement (for example using plastigauge) and check the crankshaft journals for wear and out-of-roundness — if journals are worn in, grinding to an undersize or a different crankshaft is necessary. Are you replacing the bearings during a major service? Then also check our connecting rods and engine overhaul kits.
