Glow plugs preheat the pre-chamber of an indirect injection marine diesel engine, ensuring the engine starts immediately even in cold weather. Is your engine struggling to start for the first time of the day, producing white or grey smoke from the exhaust, and only running smoothly once it is warm? Then there is a good chance that one or more glow plugs have burned out. Because the remaining plugs often fail shortly after, it is wise to always replace them as a set.
We supply glow plugs for small marine diesels from Solé Diesel (Mini 11 to Mini 55), Vetus (M2.06, M3.09, M3.28, M4.15, M4.17), Beta Marine (Beta 10 to Beta 60), Nanni (N2.10 to N4.50 and 4.105 HE), Universal, Craftsman Marine, and JF Marine Power. Each product specifies the thread size (for example M8), the voltage of the plug, and which engine codes it fits.
A tip for installation: after years of use, glow plugs are often stuck in the cylinder head. Apply penetrating oil and carefully loosen them when the engine is warm — a broken-off glow plug easily means having to remove the cylinder head. If the glow plugs do not heat up at all, first check the wiring and the glow relay; these can also be found in our range.
