Onboard electrical systems have a much harder life than in any car: a damp, salty engine compartment is the perfect recipe for corroded contacts, stuck carbon brushes, and burnt-out windings. Starting problems on the water are therefore rarely the fault of the engine itself — usually, it’s the electrical system.

In this category, you will find electrical parts for your marine diesel engine: starter motors for when the engine won’t crank or turns too slowly, alternators for when the batteries are no longer charging, and glow plugs and glow plug relays for when the diesel struggles to start from cold.

We supply parts for the most common marine diesels: Yanmar (GM, YM, and JH series), Volvo Penta (MD series, D1, D2), Vetus, Solé Diesel, Nanni, Beta Marine, Bukh, Sabb, Perkins, Westerbeke, Craftsman Marine, and Lombardini Marine. Engine codes and OE numbers are listed per product to ensure the part fits correctly.

Troubleshooting tip: before replacing a starter motor or alternator, always check the battery voltage, earth connections, and cable lugs first. A heavily corroded cable lug causes the exact same symptoms as a faulty starter motor — but fixing it is free.
