The water pump in this category is the freshwater circulation pump: the pump that circulates the coolant through the closed cooling circuit of your marine diesel engine. Not to be confused with the impeller pump, which draws in raw water — both pumps are required to keep an indirectly cooled engine at the correct operating temperature.
You can recognize a worn circulation pump by coolant leakage at the pump shaft (a trace of pink or green deposit underneath the pump), a rattling bearing, or an engine that runs too hot despite a properly functioning impeller. The bearing and shaft seal wear out gradually; do not wait too long after the first signs of leakage, because overheating in a marine engine can quickly prove fatal to the head gasket and cylinder head.
We supply new freshwater circulation pumps for Beta Marine (Beta 28, Beta 30, Beta 50) and the corresponding Nanni engines (N3.30, N4.50) and Universal M-25XPB, suitable for both direct and indirect injection and in various versions (with or without additional connection pipe, pulley diameter 58 or 68 mm). Please check each product to see which engine code and version matches your engine.
When installing, also replace the coolant and check the thermostat — a sticking thermostat causes the same overheating symptoms as a defective pump. Did the engine already overheat? Then be sure to check the head gasket as well.
