The temperature switch monitors the coolant temperature of your marine diesel engine and activates the temperature alarm or dashboard gauge as soon as the engine gets too hot. On the water, this warning is worth its weight in gold: a clogged cooling water intake or broken impeller often only announces itself through temperature, and anyone who misses the alarm risks head gasket damage or worse.
A defective switch is rarely noticed—until it matters. Therefore, test it occasionally: heat the sensor in a controlled manner in a pan of water and check with a multimeter whether it switches at the specified temperature. If the alarm never sounds, even when tested with a jumper wire, first check the wiring and the alarm circuit itself.
In this category you will currently find the temperature switch for the Beta Marine Beta 25; the assortment is being expanded. Are you looking for a temperature switch or sensor for another Beta Marine, Nanni, Solé or Vetus engine? Contact us and we will find the right part for you.
If the temperature turns out to be genuinely too high, check our thermostats and circulation pumps for the most common causes.
